The best way to get a quick view of a City is the Hop-On/Hop-Off Bus Tours.  You get to take in the city's historical vistas and find those places worth spending a bit more time exploring.

We love to travel with our RV, getting out and seeing the Canadian Rocky Mountains.

Getting to such spectacular views takes a fair bit of commitment, but then they are worth it. 

You don't need anything other then some warm clothes and good hiking boots.

And a friend to take that picture...
